BACKGROUND:
The Nebraska State Championship Road Race returns to Branched Oak Lake. Since 1992, this state championship event has been held primarily at this 11.2 mile race course. The rolling terrain and sometimes challenging winds make the Branched Oak Lake venue a perfect setting for this late season classic. USA Cycling State Championship medals will be awarded to the top three Nebraska riders in multiple age divisions. See details below. Pre-registration is REQUIRED, so please register early and reserve your spot for this fantastic race!

King of the Mountain “KOM” Prize in the Men 1/2/3 race:
In the Men’s 1/2/3 race, the rider who earns the most “KOM” points will be eligible for a Bike Pedalers gift card of $50. Points will be awarded on each lap at the designated line on the west side of the race course at the top of the hill on NW 140th prior to the right turn on to Davey Road. Points will be awarded as follows:
Lap 1 = 2 points
Lap 2 = 4 points
Lap 3 = 6 points
Lap 4 = 6 points
Lap 5 = 4 points
Lap 6 = 2 points

• USAC one-day license ($10) and annual licenses ($60) will be available for purchase on-site race day.
• PLEASE NOTE: One-day license holders ARE NOT eligible for state championship medals.
RACE RULES & INFORMATION:
• All USAC road race rules apply.
• Must have a USA Cycling annual license PRIOR to the race to be eligible for State Championship medals.
• ANSI approved helmet required and must be worn at all times before, during and after this event.
• No aero bars allowed. No sleeveless jerseys allowed.
• Yellow line rule will be strictly enforced for all events.
• The race course will be open to traffic throughout all events. Lancaster County Deputies will provide traffic control.
• No individual support vehicles are allowed.
• The feed zone will have limited neutral support. Please make arrangements for feeds during the race.
• Race Director reserves the right to combine races, alter distances and cancel and/or combine prize lists.
• Parking is allowed in designated areas only. No parking on or along the course permitted at any time.
COURSE DESCRIPTION:
From the staging near Lieber’s Point, riders will have a 2-mile neutral roll-out along Branched Oak Road heading west to Branched Oak Road. At Branched Oak Road and NW 140th Street, the riders will turn right and proceed north. This is the official start of the race and the 11.2 mile race circuit. PLEASE NOTE: Laps start and finish at this intersection, Branched Oak Road and NW 140th Street. You only make the right turn on to Branched Oak Road and come back to the Start/Finish Line at the conclusion of your final lap. Riders will head north on NW 140th to Davey Road where they will turn right and proceed east. The road winds along the north side of Branched Oak Lake before turning south across the dam and to the corner of NW 98th Street and Raymond Road. At this corner, riders will turn right and proceed west on Raymond Road. At the corner of Raymond Road and NW 140th, riders head north back to the intersection of NW 140th and Branched Oak Road. This marks the official end of the 11.2 mile circuit.
DIRECTIONS:
From I-80, take Exit 401B to Hwy 34. Head west on Hwy 34 to NW 112th to Raymond Road. Turn left on Raymond Road and proceed west to NW 140th Street. Turn right on NW 140th Street and head north to Branched Oak Road. Turn right and proceed to the park gate. Continue east past the park gate to Lieber’s Point. Watch for direction signs.
