08-psyc-logoThe 2008 Nebraska Lottery Psycowpath Series continues on SUNDAY May 18: The Platte River Battle Royal Marathon, hosted by CycleWorks, has a long history of serving up endless miles of fun for riders across Nebraska.  The course at Platte River State Park has a bit of everything for every level of rider; in fact, this course has been featured in national mountain bike publications such as Dirt Rag, VeloNews, and Bike magazine.  It has received rave reviews from mountain bike pro's Cameron Chambers, Travis Brown, and more.  And now its your turn to experience this Nebraska mountain destination in a unique race format...

The Platte River Battle Royal is a six hour marathon race for everyone.  How long you stop to take a break between laps is up to you.  You could be the first season racer who completes a lap, stops for a rest and takes pictures, and then does just one more lap before its over.  Or you could be Kevin Limpach and do 9 laps in a row while only stopping to fix a flat.  In either case, you're going to have a blast!  Marathon racing is different than traditional XC racing... some say more laid back.  Don't worry about the guy racing next to you... you get to worry about just YOU, and how far YOU can push yourself... alongside the camaraderie and fun of others doing exactly the same thing, on some of the best trails in the Midwest.  Party it up afterwards with the support of the CycleWorks crew, with music the whole time, and free food to replace the calories you'll be burning.

Entry fee is $20 for everyone, no one day licenses required!  $40 for teams (duo).

The SOLO categories for racing will be: Men's, Women's, & Singlespeed.  Hundreds of dollars in cash is available for these categories, paying 5 deep in Men's ($125-75-50-40-30) and 3 deep in Women's & Singlespeed ($100-60-40).  Licensed expert riders must race solo.  Because, well, they're fast.

The TEAM categories are Open (could be coed), Women's and Singlespeed.  Teams may include no more than 2 riders.  Prizes include top line Camelbacks, gift certificates for CycleWorks, and gift certificates for local coffee & burrito joints.

Registration starts at 8, racing starts promptly at 10am and finishes at 4pm!
