Hastings, Nebr. - Mark your event calendars for the 8th Annual Kool-Aid Classic Bicycle Tour on Saturday, August 9, 2008, in Hastings, Nebraska. This tour is sponsored by Hastings Unique Bicyclists (HUB) as a fundraiser for the Pioneer Spirit Trail. Cyclists choose from a 30 or 60 mile route through the quiet countryside surrounding the birthplace of Kool-Aid. The event will be supported with several rest stops and Kool-Aid refreshment along the way.

2008 E’tape Du Tour
This year was supposed to be easier. I suppose in terms of mileage and total elevation gain, it was. Our route from Pau over the Tourmalet and then to the top of Hautacam was 108 miles with 11,600 feet of climbing. The past couple of years our routes have been from 125-150 miles with 13,000 to 14,000 feet of climbing and we have ridden in extreme heat conditions. This swung us to the other end of the spectrum. Hypothermia!
