Norfolk, Neb. - The 2008 NCA Spring Training Series continues in Norfolk on March 29, 2008. The NCA Spring Training Series gives new racers a chance to get their first taste of competition in a more relaxed setting while allowing upper category speedsters a chance to test their early season legs.

The host club, Elkhorn Valley Cycling powered by Monster, has a tight and technical course laid out on the campus of Northeast Community College.  This race will epitomize why crits are the most popular road racing event in America. The course features tight right and left turns, a winding uphill, and a wide open sprint finish area. This course will keep racers “on the rivet” for the entire race with plenty of chances for riders of all types and skill levels to stay in the chase.

Race promoter Dan Spray says “We use this same race course for our club races during the summer months. It is always a ton of fun.” Dan is also quick to point out that this is not the same course that will be used for the State Criterium to be held in downtown Norfolk on June 8th.

The race series is sanctioned by USA Cycling and requires a valid 2008 USAC license to compete. To learn more about USAC race licenses, both annual and 1-day options, riders are encouraged to visit the NCA website, www.nebraskacycling.org

The Nebraska Cycling Association consists of riders and racers representing multiple teams from across the state, both road and off-road. The mission of the NCA is to promote the sport of cycling and encourage riders of all ages and abilities to try competitive cycling.

The Nebraska Cycling Association is the official governing arm of USA Cycling. In addition to the NCA Criterium Training Series, the NCA provides free clinics which give instruction on race officiating as well as race promotion.
