As of Dec. 1, all 2008 licenses are now on sale. But wait! If you race for a team, make sure your team manager or club president has renewed your team's license.

If your team has not renewed, you will be prohibited from signing up.

You can quickly and easily renew your license online through your My USA Cycling account.

USA Cycling is committed to understanding your needs. To help us improve our service to you we are asking that you participate in a brief, 35-question online survey that should take less than 10 minutes to complete. Kent McNeill along with a few others have been busy the last month and a half. France last month and Leadville 100 this month. Kent was kind enough to regale us with his account of their adventures.

2008 E’tape Du Tour

This year was supposed to be easier. I suppose in terms of mileage and total elevation gain, it was. Our route from Pau over the Tourmalet and then to the top of Hautacam was 108 miles with 11,600 feet of climbing. The past couple of years our routes have been from 125-150 miles with 13,000 to 14,000 feet of climbing and we have ridden in extreme heat conditions. This swung us to the other end of the spectrum. Hypothermia!

"Your from Nebraska?" the gal at medical check in asked. "Yes" Steve replied. "So you’re taking the high altitude medication Diamox then?" she asked. "No" Steve replied, having never heard of it. "Oh Boy!" she said with a tone of amazement and worry. "Good Luck!"
