Nebraska Lottery/Psycowpath along with Midwest Wheelmasters will play host to a premier event celebrating the 2007 season for both mountain bike and road racing. The night will include award presentations, slide shows, pasta feed and more.

On the mountain bike side, series trophies will he dished out (hand-made by the Holmes' Family of Racing) and a new Psycow-Spirit recipient will be awarded the golden cowbell for their over-and-above graciousness to our sport.  Of course the night wouldn't be complete without a video montage of MTB photos set to music.

On the road side, we will whoop it up when the Rider of the Year award is presented. Awards will be handed out to the top riders in the Men's 1/2, Men 3, Men 4, Women 1/2/3 as well as Masters 35, 45 and 55+ divisions. A sneak peek at the 2008 Nebraska road race season will be unveiled, too.

It should be a night to remember. Everyone, racer or non, are welcome.
The more the merrier!

Kent McNeill along with a few others have been busy the last month and a half. France last month and Leadville 100 this month. Kent was kind enough to regale us with his account of their adventures.

2008 E’tape Du Tour

This year was supposed to be easier. I suppose in terms of mileage and total elevation gain, it was. Our route from Pau over the Tourmalet and then to the top of Hautacam was 108 miles with 11,600 feet of climbing. The past couple of years our routes have been from 125-150 miles with 13,000 to 14,000 feet of climbing and we have ridden in extreme heat conditions. This swung us to the other end of the spectrum. Hypothermia!

"The Race Across The Sky" Leadville Trail 100

"Your from Nebraska?" the gal at medical check in asked. "Yes" Steve replied. "So you’re taking the high altitude medication Diamox then?" she asked. "No" Steve replied, having never heard of it. "Oh Boy!" she said with a tone of amazement and worry. "Good Luck!"
