The hills at Ponca State Park laid forth a challenging course under perfect conditions on Saturday for the Ponca's Revenge 4 Hour Marathon. Hosted by Sioux City Velo, Ponca's Revenge was the second marathon event of the 2007 Nebraska Lottery Psycowpath Series.
Eighteen year old Aaron Grady (Bike Masters) got his second win of the series, completing 11 laps-- more than any other competitor. Grady's relentless pace held off regional semi-pro Cam Kirkpatrick (Rasmussen), with style pro Matt Gersib (Salsa Cycles/Monkey Wrench) coming in at third. Kevin Limpach of Midwest Cycling Community battled to fourth place after early cramping had him second guessing the previous night's campfire libations. Host club Sioux City Velo's Cody McCollough managed to get on the fifth step, while Lincoln commuting icon CVO (Monkey Wrench Cycles) took sixth. In the women's solo division, Lincoln's Sydney Brown (Badger Cycles) took the win with Donna Holmes placing second.
