Beatrice, NE - Joe McWilliams (Nebraska Medical Center/Team Kaos) completed the team sweep of the 2007 Monumental Memorial Cycling Weekend with his sprint victory over Jay Thomas (Midwest TREK/VW) in Memorial Day's Industrial Row Criterium. The 60-minute race, which was suspended for nearly 30 minutes due to a crash incolcing Tom Price ( Localcycling.com/TREK of KC), was completed as a 15 lap drag race that saw the field almost immediately split upon restarting. McWilliams along with Thomas, Kevin Burke (Lincoln Plating-Lemond) and Ryan Belew (CU Cycling) moved away from the field after only two laps and established a :45 advantage. In the final dash for the line, Thomas was caught just meters before the line by a hard-charging McWilliams, who capped off a successful weekend of racing for Team Kaos claiming the Omnium title in the Men's 1/2 competition.
