ZedSport, North American distributor of Planet X Bicycles, is pleased to announce the roster of Team Planet X Masters for 2007. With a focus on both road and track, Team Planet X Masters' goal is to become one of the premier Masters racing teams in North America. The team for 2007 includes:

Tevor Williams 32: Residing in Calgary, Alberta, Trev competes in road, track and triathlon. He is the 2006 Alberta Masters Road Cycling Champion. Trevor's main goal for '07 is to repeat as Alberta Road Champion and also win the Alberta TT Championship.

Maj. Troy Heineman 42: Troy is in the Dept. of Military Science at the Univ. of Wisc.-Madison. Troy races both road and MTB, and is a 3 time US Armed Forces European MTB Champion, 2 time US Armed Forces European Cycling Champion and has been both Road and Time Trial Champion of the Army. Troy’s ’07 goals include the Wisconsin & Illinois Time Trial championships and Wisconsin (Badger) State Games. 

Steve Quartz, Ph.D. 43: Steve, a Malibu California resident, is returning to competition after a few years away from the sport. Steve raced as an elite road cyclist with Celo Pacific, Team Sunset, and then Swamis/Jane alongside such members as Chris Horner and Rich Meeker. His race goals include both road and track, with his main focus the World Masters Pursuit Championship.

Eric Manuel 40, Co-Captain:  Eric is a San Diego resident and raced in Europe as part of a composite National Team in 1990. In 1992 a serious crash in a Kerin left him with a bruised heart and ruptured lung, prompting Eric to retire. In 2004, Eric returned to racing at the elite level. His first year back saw him qualifying and racing at Elite Track Nationals. For 2007, Eric’s goals include California Masters Track Championships and again qualifying for Elite Track Nationals.

Ric Gordon, Ph.D. 54, Captain: Residing in Kansas City, Ric is a time trial specialist. He was a Gold and Silver medalist at the 06’ Missouri State Senior Games, as well as being ranked 9th nationally at his age in the individual time trial until a training crash ended his season early. Ric’s ’07 goals include several state games and regaining a top 10 national ranking.

Quick Updates

Starting at 7:30 a.m. Saturday December 20th and continuing this winter when the temps are low, group stationary bike training rides will take place at  The Cathedral of the Risen Christ Gym located at 3245 S 37th St, aka 37th & Sheridan Blvd. Bring your bike, stationary trainer, something to protect the floor from your stand (mat, towel) and some change as a free will for lights.  Monsignor Tucker has made this location available.  We will have a big screen showing cycling DVDs.  You can come as early as 7:00 to set up, and we will be ending around 9:30 and out by 10:00.  Feel free to come and go as you please during the session. 

The Gym floor needs to be protected.  Please remove your shoes if they have cleats.
