The 2007 Nebraska Lottery Psycowpath Series kicks off April 7 at the Tranquility Tire Tantrum XC in Omaha, NE.  12 Days, 288 hours, 17,000 minutes-- however you want to count it, its for real, people.  The posters are up, and the postman is bringing the info to a mailbox near you.  Air up those mountain bike tires and prepare to recover from a wet and cold winter.  In addition to the great riding and competition you've come to expect, 2007 brings some new changes to the series.  Don't worry, entry fees and all that stays the same... but we're puttin more free stuff in your hands-- how about a shirt and a hotdog?

2007 features 6 XC events and 2 marathon events that will challenge riders as never before.  The Platte River Battle Royal will feature a 6 hour marathon event and Ponca's Revenge Marathon will feature a 4 hour marathon as well as a 2 hour marathon option for beginner riders.

In years past you've seen our sweet series t-shirts featuring our schedule and our sponsors, and you've had the opportunity to purchase them.  Thanks to the generosity of the Nebraska Lottery and Thompson Family Chiropractic every rider in the series can get a t-shirt this year as a thanks for your enthusiastic participation in the local mountain bike scene.  We ordered quite a few, but don't wait until August to get yours.  Make sure you get yours at the Tranquility Tire Tantrum on April 7-- look for the Nebraska Lottery to be handing them out.  Also, each event this year will feature food on the grill for racers and spectators.  We know all that ridin makes you hungry.

Kent McNeill along with a few others have been busy the last month and a half. France last month and Leadville 100 this month. Kent was kind enough to regale us with his account of their adventures.

2008 E’tape Du Tour

This year was supposed to be easier. I suppose in terms of mileage and total elevation gain, it was. Our route from Pau over the Tourmalet and then to the top of Hautacam was 108 miles with 11,600 feet of climbing. The past couple of years our routes have been from 125-150 miles with 13,000 to 14,000 feet of climbing and we have ridden in extreme heat conditions. This swung us to the other end of the spectrum. Hypothermia!

"The Race Across The Sky" Leadville Trail 100

"Your from Nebraska?" the gal at medical check in asked. "Yes" Steve replied. "So you’re taking the high altitude medication Diamox then?" she asked. "No" Steve replied, having never heard of it. "Oh Boy!" she said with a tone of amazement and worry. "Good Luck!"
