Council Bluffs, IA – It was another soggy race for the 2006 Nebraska Lottery Psycowpath Series at Lake Manawa on July 8. This time, however, it was the Beginner races at 10 A.M. that saw the worst conditions. The beginner categories that normally take approximately 45 minutes to complete took between 1 hour and 2 hours 20 minutes. Sydney Brown from Lincoln won the race overall despite the fact that the Women’s category left a full 2 minutes after the Men. Conditions for the Expert and Sport categories at noon were considerably better than those for the Beginners at 10 A.M., as the course had some time to dry out. In the Sport race, Aaron Grady broke free of the lead pack towards the end of the first lap and extended his lead on the second lap to take win. In the Sport Masters 35+, John Holmes continued his winning streak. In the Sport Masters 45+, Richard Richie posted the fastest time of all the Sport categories, winning his category.  In the expert event, Anthony Wilhelm led the race wire to wire with Greg Shimonek and Cam Kirkpatrick finishing second and third respectively. “The course conditions were great, it was really fun!” exclaimed Tony Wilhelm after the finish of the Expert race. Tim Edwards won the Masters 35+ race over Scott Neckash. The 2006 Nebraska Lottery Psycowpath Series continues with the Norba State Championships at Swanson Park in Bellevue on August 19.
