KIRKPATRICK WINS AT CAVES; SCHLAKE STATE CHAMPION Print E-mail

Brownville, NE -- Iowa rider, Cam Kirkpatrick (QCP-TREK) chalked up his second victory in the 2005 Psycowpath MTB Series presented by the Nebraska Lottery at the "Rave In the Cave" XC race saturday afternoon at Indian Caves State Park.

Kirkpatrick covered the 3-lap, 27-mile Expert Men's event in 1:50:01, :48 faster than Highgear/LBC rider, Tony Wilhelm. Wilhelm's teammate, Darin Schlake finished third at 1:55:08 and claimed the Nebraska NORBA State Championship as the first Nebraska rider. Series leader, Jesse Petersen (Cycle Works/Moose's Tooth) crossed in fourth place at 1:59:44. Greg Shimonek rounded out the top five at 2:00:42. In the Expert Masters 35+, Kevin Burke (Highgear/LBC Racing) took top honors with a time of 2:04:08. Revolution Cycling's Corbett Mortensen finished second at 2:10:18. Dave Draus (Monkeywrench Cycles) capped off an impressive season with a third place finish at 2:10:34.
