Gretna, Neb. — Jeff Luedtke of Husker Road Club and Team Kaos' Morgan Chaffin each scored their third consecutive Ak-Sar-Ben Time Trial victories in the first favorable conditions of the series.

Luedtke clocked the fastest time of the day, 44 minutes and 16 seconds, over the 20.32-mile course. His time was eight seconds slower than his performance at the second time trial of the series, but still nearly two minutes faster than his nearest competitor.

Chaffin clocked a time of 54:39 Saturday, 24 seconds slower than her ride on the course on June 25.

"I thought it was windier today, especially coming back at the end," Chaffin said. "It seemed like there was more traffic out here, too."

In winning the Cat. I-II-III division, Luedtke averaged 27.54 miles an hour. Jon Randell of Lincoln Plating-LeMond. Randell was second in a time of 46:08, while LBC Highgear’s Mike Munson was third in 46:51.

Tom Stuhr of LBC Highgear kept Duane Blair from repeating his win in the Cat. V division by improving his time by 45 seconds from June 25. Other division winners were UPMC Cycling's Bill Gotttberg (Masters 40+) and Ciao Baby's Nathanel Elmer (Cat. IV).
