Jeff Luedtke (HRC/Olympia) averaged over 27mph to a finish time of 44:08 in Saturday's 20mi Time Trial. Despite forecasts calling for rain and scattered storms, The second installment of the Ak-Sar-Ben Time Trial Series attracted riders from across the state.
The rain did come, but it didn't slow down riders, many of whom shaved 30-60 seconds or more from their times recorded at the May 7th series opener. Luedtke's pace earned him top honors in the Cat1-2-3 field, followed closely by Mike Munson (Highgear/LBC Racing) at 45:27 and Christian Davenport (Lincoln Plating/Lemond) at 45:31. Top finishers in other fields included Cat IV Buck Hood (Ciao Baby) at 47:40, masters 40+ Bill Gottberg at 46:52, Cat V Duane Blair at 51:06, and Morgan Chaffin (Team Kaos) at 54:15 in the women's field.
