The 2005 Cornhusker State Games Stage Race is set for Saturday and Sunday, July 16-17 with an individual time trial, road race and circuit race slated for riders of all ages and abilities. Registration is available online at www.cornhuskerstategames.com and will remain open through Monday, June 27. Mail-in registration forms can be found at all local bike shops. The CSG Stage Race is a three race, 2-day event with points awarded for place. Additional sprint points will be awarded in the road race and circuit race. The complete point system including sprint points will be announced 1-week prior to the event.  Medals will be awarded to the top three finishers in each category.

Individual Time Trial - Saturday, July 16; 7:30am
Branched Oak Lake, Raymond, NE

The ITT will start and finish at Lieber's Point. Riders will be sent off at 1:00 minute intervals for one lap of the 11.2 mile course, which runs clockwise around Branched Oak Lake. Add in the 2-mile stretch from the start gate to the course and you have a 13 mile circuit, which will challenge with a mix of rolling hills and long flat stretches.

Road Race - Saturday, July 16; 10:00am
Branched Oak Lake, Raymond, NE

The road race course will feature mulitple laps of the TT circuit. A neutral 2-mile rollout will escort the riders to the course and the official start of the race. The start/finish will again be at Lieber's Point with a complete road closure for the last 1/4 mile. Some of the most exciting sprint finishes in Nebraska cycling can be viewed by family and friends along this stretch.

Circuit Race - Sunday, July 17; 8:00am
Pioneers Park, Lincoln, NE

The 2-mile circuit at Pioneers Park is a hilly track with plenty of "breakaway" opportunities. The start/finish is located on the park road in front of the Pinewood Bowl entrance. The course begins with a slight downhill and then rises into a roundabout before heading back up another moderate hill. As the course levels off, it immediately rolls down into a windy, flat section, which circles one the two ponds at Pioneers Park. As the course winds it way back to the finish line, riders will battle up the long, steady climb, which will test riders of all levels and abilities.
