The 2005 Psycowpath MTB Series presented by the Nebraska Lottery continues with the first of two events at Ponca SRA this Saturday, June 25, 2005. The "Ponca's Revenge Downhill" competition promises to be a thrilling test of rider's gravity skills.
Jesse Vincent, Dean Giese and the THOR Crew have created a new downhill course complete with rock gardens, teeter totters, skinnies, ladder drops, and kickers. This will be the only event held on June 25, which will provide a great opportunity for the gravity racing contingent to have a full day of competition.
Here is the schedule of events:
10:00am - 12:00pm
Downhill Practice Session
12:00pm Competition begins. Order of start will be Beginner, Sport and Expert.
Each rider will have three runs. The fastest time will be recorded for overall placing. There will be a shuttle service to transport riders to the start gate at the conclusion of each run. Prizes will be awarded to the top three in each category (these are open events) including cash for Expert riders and merchandise and/or gift certificates for Sport and Beginner.
The race course is located directly west of the Ponca West Shelter. Directions and parking instructions will be provided by the Park Staff at the entrance. Camping and parking are available at the bottom of the downhill race course.
This is a gravity only event, but also a great opportunity to preview the XC course. The Ponca's Revenge XC competition has been reshceduled for August 6, 2005.
Hot dogs and chips will be provided following the DH competition.
