PSYCOWPATH MTB #3; PONCA'S REVENGE THIS SATURDAY

The 2005 Psycowpath MTB Series presented by the Nebraska Lottery continues this Saturday, June 10 with Psycowpath MTB #3: Ponca's Revenge at Ponca SRA. Featuring a cross-country and downhill competition, "Ponca's Revenge" offers a full-day of great MTB action! This is the last race in the series before the mid-season break, which extends through the month of July. Located in Ponca State Park in the Missouri River bluffs, the course offers some of the best riding in northeast Nebraska. Packed full of of long climbs and swooping downhill section, the circuit is true single track for 90% of the track. Big ring rolling sections, switch back climbs and open road passing all combine to offer riders the best in XC racing anywhere. Race loop is approximately 5 miles and suitable for all riding levels. Downhill distance and schedule will be determined on race day. THE VENUE: Ponca State Park is a great place to bring the family for the weekend. All levels of lodging and camping are available in the park. There is a playground, a swimming pool, horse trail rides and ramp access to the Missouri River. A brand new visitorâ€™s center is open to the public, complete with a mini museum about the geology of area. Great views overlooking the river across to Iowa are worth the drive. The park is open year round for riding and the loops are fairly maintained and marked. DIRECTIONS: Ponca State Recreation Area, Ponca, NE Take I-29 north to highway 20. Go west on highway 20 to highway 12. Take highway 12 north to Ponca. There are signs for the park which is on the north edge of town.
