On Father's Day, June 19th, Blues Bike and Fitness and the Revolution Cycling Team will be hosting the Capital City Criterium. This year, the race will be held at Southwest High School and promises to be a challenging event!
The Capital City Criterium has been a fixture in the Lincoln community since 1992. With the OK from former Lincoln Mayor Mike Johanns, initially the race ran on the streets around the Capitol building. After excursions into the Haymarket business area as well as a brief foray to Haymarket Park, the event will be held at Southwest High School. In 2005, Blues Bike and Fitness has partnered with Trail Trek to provide a wide variety of entertainment, thus increasing attendance and truly making this a family event.
The Capital City Criterium is a well-attended event, attracting racers not only from Nebraska, but also from neighboring states. This year we expect an excellent turnout with a total purse of $3,000!
We are proud to be part of the 2005 Nebraska Rider of the Year (R.O.Y.) Competition! The Capital City Criterium is the 4th of 8 events in the competition. The R.O.Y. challenge is sure to be heating up by June 19th!
