 Stephen Jarrett (Cycling Club of Nebraska) continued to show impressive early season form with a solid victory at the Psycowpath MTB Series opener at Swanson Park in Bellevue saturday afternoon.Jarrett covered the 22.5 mile, 5-lap "Expert" event in 1:41:27. TREK rider, Jesse Reints fought his way from mid-pack to take second place, 2:02 back. Jarrett's Cycling Club of Nebraska teammate, Greg Shimonek rounded out the top three, 2:23 behind. A complete wrap-up of the "River City Shootout," including results and information on the "Kanesville Krusher," May 21 at Lewis & Clark Monument will be available. Check back soon! 2008 E’tape Du Tour
This year was supposed to be easier. I suppose in terms of mileage and total elevation gain, it was. Our route from Pau over the Tourmalet and then to the top of Hautacam was 108 miles with 11,600 feet of climbing. The past couple of years our routes have been from 125-150 miles with 13,000 to 14,000 feet of climbing and we have ridden in extreme heat conditions. This swung us to the other end of the spectrum. Hypothermia!

"Your from Nebraska?" the gal at medical check in asked. "Yes" Steve replied. "So you’re taking the high altitude medication Diamox then?" she asked. "No" Steve replied, having never heard of it. "Oh Boy!" she said with a tone of amazement and worry. "Good Luck!"
