On Saturday, April 23, Tranquility Park in Omaha will host it's inaugrual race on the trails designed and built by Bike Masters Cycling Club and the local trail club, Trails Have Our Respect. Designed according to "Trail Solutions: IMBA's Guide to Building Sweet Singletrack", Tranquility Park Mountain Bike Trail flows through praire grass, cottonwood, and evergreen flora with sections of technical trail features, moderate climbing, and a big ring downhill. The race will use different sections of trail depending on category and class.
A portion of the race fees will be donated back to T.H.O.R. so they can continue to develop trails in our area.
Directions: From I-680 and W. Maple St., go west to the 124th St. and W. Maple St. (stop light), turn north and park in the upper, NW corner of the Moylan Iceplex parking lot.
NORBA license is required and available on-site: $5 one-day training race ($10 one-day sanctioned race) $60 annual
Start Times: 10:00 a.m. Junior and Beginner (~30-40 mins.) 11:30 a.m. Sport (~75 mins.) and Expert (~100 mins.)
Race Fee: $10.
Classes: Junior 10-12, 13-15, 16-18 Open 19-39 Master 40+ Women Clydesdale (over 200#, Beginner and Sport only). Medals awarded three deep in each class.
