The downhill and four cross contests at Blast the Mass made up the fifth race on the USA Cycling Mountain Bike National Gravity Calendar. Aaron Gwin (Morongo Valley, Calif.) earned the win in the men's pro downhill, while Sage Wilderman (Fraser, Colo.) took the women's competition. Ross Milan (Littleton, Colo.) won the pro men's four cross as recently crowned World Champion Melissa Buhl (Chandler, Ariz.) took the women's four cross victory.
