USCF 'RIDER OF THE YEAR' COMPETITION KICKS OFF WITH SPRING CYCLING CLASSIC |

The 2005 USCF 'Rider of the Year' competition kicks off this weekend with the 4th Annual Lincoln Plating Spring Cycling Classic.
- The ROY competition will include the following races:
April 16-17: Lincoln Plating Spring Cycling Classic
May 7: Aksarben TT Series #1
June 4-5: Dave Babcook Memorial Stage Race
June 19: Capital City Criterium
July 16-17: Cornhusker State Games Stage Race* *only USCF category events will be eligible for ROY competition.
August 27: Nebraska State Championship Time Trial
September 10: Nebraska State Championship Road Race
September 24: Elmwood-Murdock Road Race

Races selected as ROY events will have the following categories.
Masters 35+ (Open)
Masters 45+ (Cat. 3/4/5)
Masters 55+ (Cat. 3/4/5)
Juniors (16-18) Men & Women
Juniors (13-15) Men & Women
Women 1/2/3
Women (Cat. 4)
Pro Men 1 & 2
Senior Men Cat. 3
Senior Men Cat. 4
Senior Men Cat. 5
SERIES RULES & AWARDS
The top finishers in each of the ROY category will receive free entry to all 2006 ROY events!
First, second, and third place awards will be given at an NCA sponsored event to the rider with the highest point total in each category.
The ROY is considered a series competition and all USCF rules shall apply.
If a tie occurs, the USCF rules for determining the winner will apply.
Placing within the ROY competition is based on the highest to lowest point totals.
Points from all ROY events will be included in a riders point total. If a rider does not compete in an event they are awarded zero points for that event.
Points may not be transferred laterally (i.e. from Masters to Cat 3).
A rider who is upgrading will have 50% of their points transferred to the higher category.
Stage races shall have ROY points awarded based on GC.
Stage race points shall be awarded the same as all other ROY events.
Points are as follows and do not change based on field size:
1st – 100
2nd - 95
3rd - 90
4th - 85
5th - 80
6th - 77
7th – 74
8th – 71
9th – 68
10th - 65
11th - 62
12th - 59
13th - 56
14th - 53
15th - 50
16th – 48
17th – 46
18th – 44
19th - 42
20th – 40
21st – 39
22nd – 38
23rd – 37

Quick Updates
Starting at 7:30 a.m. Saturday December 20th and continuing this winter when the temps are low, group stationary bike training rides will take place at The Cathedral of the Risen Christ Gym located at 3245 S 37th St, aka 37th & Sheridan Blvd. Bring your bike, stationary trainer, something to protect the floor from your stand (mat, towel) and some change as a free will for lights. Monsignor Tucker has made this location available. We will have a big screen showing cycling DVDs. You can come as early as 7:00 to set up, and we will be ending around 9:30 and out by 10:00. Feel free to come and go as you please during the session.
