McConneloug and Craig Defend Stars and Stripes in Pro Cross Country Events as They Prepare for Beiji Print E-mail

11-time National Champion Eric Carter and 2008 World Champ Melissa Buhl win Pro Dual Slalom Crowns

West Dover, Vt. - Reigning national champions and 2008 Olympians Adam Craig (Bend, Ore.) and Mary McConneloug (Chilmark, Mass.) showed their readiness for Beijing only weeks before the opening of the Olympic Games winning the men's and women's 2008 USA Cycling Mountain Bike National cross country titles on Saturday. After four consecutive podium appearances, including his 2007 national title, Craig put on a dominant performance to take his second consecutive Stars-and-Stripes jersey in the pro men's cross country race at Southern Vermont's Mount Snow Resort, while McConneloug defended her national title by less than a wheel over fellow 2008 Olympian Georgia Gould (Fort Collins, Colo.).

Cornhusker State Games this weekend Print E-mail

Saturday's Time Trial Start List is Available! 

This weekend the Cornhusker State Games cycling events are being held. The 22 mile out and back time trial will be this held Satuday in Yutan, Neb. Racers will also be competing for the valuable "Rider of the Year" points. First rider is off at 9:00am and the last rider is at 10:00am.  Hit the "Read More"  for the start list. And for more information on the event go to the event listing page.

Sunday are the mountain bike races held at Branched Oak Lake State Recreation Area. This year there is a changes in location. The races will be at Area 1 and not Area7. The Juniors start the day off at 8:00am and the Sport/Expert field will be the last race at 10:30am.  Remember to check in 30min before your event. And for more informaiton on the mountain bike race visit the event page. 

These events you needed to pre-register, so you won't be able to do day of registration.

Defending World Champion Claims Second Medal of the Week, Finishes Eight Seconds Back

usac-logoCape Town, South Africa —Two-time junior world champion Taylor Phinney (Boulder, Colo.) contested his final event Friday at the 2008 UCI Junior Road & Track World Championships, winning a bronze medal in the individual time trial. Finishing just eight seconds off the gold medal pace set by Michal Kwiatkowski (POL), Phinney’s third-place finish marked his second trip to the podium this week after winning a gold medal in the 3,000-meter individual pursuit on the track last Saturday.
