The 2005 USCF "Rider of the Year" standings have been posted with results from the Aksarben Time Trial Series #1 included. This was the second and third events for riders competing in the 2005 ROY competition. The Lincoln Plating Spring Cycling Classic counted as one event for stage race competitors and two events for riders, who participated in the road race and criterium separately.
A few notes about the point standings:
1. Points were awarded separately for the Pro 1/2 and Cat. 3 Men riders that competed in the Cat. 1/2/3 Men's event. 2. Separate points were also awarded for eligible riders in the 35+, 45+ and 55+ categories that competed in the Masters 40+ event. 3. Riders that have recently upgraded are eligible to take 50% of their accumulated points earned in their previous race category.
The next event in the 2005 ROY Competition is the Dave Babcook Memorial Stage Race in Omaha, June 4-5.

Over 50 racers participated in the 20-mile Individual Time Trial, part of the Nebraska Cycling Association's "Rider of the Year" competition. Racers first headed north and up steep hills, but at the first turn-around, everyone felt the rush of the headwind. On top of the hills, wind exposure kept speeds well below 15 mph at times. |
