The Nebraska Cyclo-cross State Championship This Saturday at Pioneers Park Lincoln, NE – November 13, 2005 – The 2005 Nebraska Cyclo-cross Series continues this weekend with two days of racing on Saturday and Sunday, November 19-20, 2005 at Pioneers Park in southwest Lincoln. A cash prize list $700 will be awarded at each event. This is the second weekend of the 6-race series, which featured races in Omaha, October 22-23 and the series finale December 17-18 in Raymond. |

Bike Pedalers is repeating their successful program to refurbish bikes and distribute them to children who normally could not get a bike for the holidays. They are now accepting good used kid's bikes. (smaller adult size bikes will also work, but 20" and 24" wheel bikes are needed.) After last year's successful campaign (over a 100 bikes), New Belgium Brewing Co. in Colorado saw the newspaper article and donated $3,000 through Lincoln Public Schools Foundation to this program. Great Plains Bicycle Club also donated almost $300. Bike Pedalers will refurbish the bikes with new tires and tubes and grips, etc, as necessary and buy new bikes to give away with the rest. Cash donations are also well received to make the program even more successful. Many are dropping off used bikes and $20 for the work needed to make them sparkle. All members and non-members alike are reminded that your help is needed with trail expansion projects this fall. Both Jewel Park and Tranquility Park have workdays schedule this weekend, November 12th and 13th. JEWEL PARK, BELLEVUE: We will be clearing and grooming the initial sections of the trail we have mapped out. This is a great chance to check out first hand the newest off-road park in the area. Coffee and Bagels will be provided.
TRANQUILITY PARK, OMAHA:
Sunday, November 13, from 1pm-3pm, we will have a trailwork day. We will put in the Phase 3 addition and some other projects, depending on turnout. If you would like to help out, please RSVP to the team leader at tpmbt@cox.net
