Louisville, NE - The Platte River Battle Royal Marathon, hosted in fine fashion by the CycleWorks/Moose's Tooth crew, was a huge success by all accounts.  Over 70 riders enjoyed the different racing format, many doing a few laps than taking a break with friends, only to go out and do more laps later at a more "conversational" pace.  It offered everyone a chance to push themselves and their limits in an environment that encourages camaraderie and all-around fun!

Norfolk, Neb. –
“The Highway to Hell” again tested the mettle of cyclists vying for State Championship medals and bragging rights at the 2008 Nebraska State Time Trial Championship May 17 in Norfolk. Sunny skies and warm temperatures were accompanied by ever-increasing winds giving each rider a sense of false hope during the first half of the out-and-back route. Most reported that the first half of the race, going out with the wind, was stellar while the return trip into the wind was, in fact, hell.

USA Cycling Announces Plans to Remain in Colorado Springs Print E-mail

National Governing Body Secures Office Building on City’s North Side

COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. - USA Cycling announced today that the national headquarters for competitive cycling in the United States will remain in Colorado Springs.

Thanks to the generous support of Nor’wood Development group and the El Pomar Foundation combined with the collective efforts of the City of Colorado Springs and several local organizations including the Colorado Springs Economic Development Corporation and the Colorado Springs Sports Corporation, USA Cycling has secured new office space on the city’s north side.  The decision to remain in Colorado Springs comes despite considerable interest from several communities throughout the United States to attract USA Cycling’s headquarters.

Lees-McRae and MIT Take Team Omniun Titles at USA Cycling Collegiate Road National Championships Print E-mail

Criterium and Omnium National Titles Awarded on Final Day of Competition in Fort Collins
 
Fort Collins, Colo. - The 2008 USA Cycling Collegiate Road National Championships concluded on Sunday as Lees McRae College claimed the overall Division I team title and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology won the overall Division II team championship. Eight individual titles were also awarded on Sunday as the three-day event closed with criterium racing in Old Town Fort Collins.
