The postponed Nebraska Lottery/Psycowpath races at Manawa and Lewis and Clark Monument have changed again.
The Manawa Mayhem race will go back to it's original date of September 27th, and will be hosted by Velo Veloce.
The race at Lewis & Clark is cancelled for 2008. The main reason for the cancellation is due to the need to reroute the entrance. This has been slowed due to weather delays and a change-over in Council Bluff's Parks and Recreation Department. Psycowpath felt in order for THOR to do it's job properly and without pressure, removing the race from the calendar was the best solution. We'll miss it but the hope is that it will be back bigger and better next year.
In the meantime, get ready for the next XC race at Ponca. It's been a marathon event the last few seasons. We suspect this year we're going to see a record turnout. With Jay and his Sioux City Velo crew in charge, we have no doubts!
See you on the start line!

Photo by Mark Stursma Norfolk - Nightly thunderstorms didn’t deter a record number of racers from attending the third annual Norfolk Classic Cycling Weekend held June 7 and 8 in and around Norfolk. Promoted by the Elkhorn Valley Cycling Club and sponsored by Monster Energy and the Norfolk-Madison County Convention and Visitor’s Bureau, the weekend’s events included the Norfolk Classic Road Race and the Nebraska State Championship Criterium. Nearly perfect daytime weather both days set the stage for a terrific weekend of racing marred only by an unfortunate crash midway through the last race of the weekend.

Omaha, NE - The second annual 3-2-1 Cycling Challenge will be held Saturday, August 2. The 50-mile hosted by the "MTB Goatheads" will feature a group ride on both pavement and dirt.
All the proceeds will be donated to the Omaha Street School, which is a non-profit school serving at-risk youth in the Omaha area.
The event is called "3-2-1" because the route connects three area mountain bike trails in two states, all benefiting one great cause.
Registration is $25 and includes an event tee shirt and a bbq lunch upon completion of the course.
