Video: Iconic Hampton(R) Brand Achieves 1,500 Hotels Milestone Print E-mail

MEMPHIS, Tenn., - Hampton (http://www.hampton.com/), the international brand of mid-priced Hampton Inn(R) and Hampton Inn & Suites(R) hotels, today set a new "personal best" record with the opening of its 1,500th hotel, the Hampton Inn & Suites I-25 South Colorado Springs in Colorado. To mark the occasion, the brand announced plans to donate at least 150 bicycles to the Boys & Girls Club of the Pikes Peak Region. Hampton is an official sponsor of USA Cycling. Colorado Springs-based Chartwell Hospitality owns and manages the hotel.

CSC Announces It Will Not Renew Pro Cycling Sponsorship Print E-mail

EL SEGUNDO, Calif. - Computer Sciences Corporation (NYSE:CSC) today announced that the company will not extend its relationship with Riis Cycling or its professional cycling team past the end of the current contract, which expires on Dec. 31, 2008.

Nine Athletes Set to Compete at Final Major Event before Olympic Games

usac-logoColorado Springs, Colo. - USA Cycling announced today its selections to the National Team for the 2008 UCI Track World Championships.

Set for March 26-30 in Manchester, Great Britain, the World Championships will feature nine American athletes after five riders met automatic qualification criteria and four earned discretionary nominations.

Receiving automatic nominations to the team based on performance throughout the 2007-08 season were Sarah Hammer (Temecula, Calif.) for the women’s 3-kilometer individual pursuit, Jennie Reed (Kirkland, Wash.) for both the sprint and keirin events, Michael Blatchford (Cypress, Calif.) in the men’s sprint, Michael Friedman (Pittsburgh, Pa.) in the men’s scratch race and Taylor Phinney (Boulder, Colo.) for the men’s individual pursuit.

Zabriskie Leads Long List of Notable Program Alumni in USA Cycling Professional Tour Season Opener

Palo Alto, Calif. - As the third-annual Amgen Tour of California brings professional bike racing to the United States this week, nine UCI ProTour teams representing 27 nations will be on hand to illustrate the growing interest in American cycling.  A strong American contingent - 18 of which are products of USA Cycling's European-based National Development Team - is among the world-class field.
