Over 500 Student-Athletes Expected to Compete for 18 National Titles
 
Colorado Springs, Colo. —The 2007 USA Cycling Collegiate Road National Championships will return to Lawrence, Kan., May 11-13 where over 500 student-athletes representing colleges and universities from across the country will compete to win one of 18 national cycling titles.

Men and women from Division I and Division II institutions will compete for individual championships in three categories – criterium, road race and overall – while team titles will be on the line in both the team time trial events and the overall classification.

Jurekovic, Cares Post Solid Results Against World-Class Field in California

Colorado Springs, Colo. - The USA Cycling National Development Team competed at the Sea Otter Classic in Monterey, Calif., April 11-15 - the fourth race on the inaugural USA Cycling Mountain Bike National Calendar.  The two development riders, Sam Jurekovic (Colorado Springs, Colo.) and Colin Cares (Boulder, Colo.), contested all three of Sea Otter's off-road endurance events - Friday's time trial, Saturday's short track cross country race and Sunday's cross country event.  Collectively, the duo turned is several strong finishes among some of the world's best international competitors.

Five Americans Tackle Junior Version of the "Queen of the Classics"

Colorado Springs, Colo.  - As the world's top professional cyclists stole the headlines Sunday with their performance in Paris-Roubaix, the "Queen of the Classics" and arguably the most prestigious single-day bicycle race in the world, the sport's future - including a five-man American contingent - contested the junior version of the race. USA Cycling's Junior Development Program fielded a team of five riders for the Paris-Roubaix Juniors, a shorter version of the pro race specific to 17-and 18-year-olds.

First-Time International Competitor Wins Sprint Jersey in Dutch UCI Race

Colorado Springs, Colo. - The USA Cycling Women's National Team continued its European tour last week as first-time international competitor Brooke Miller led the team with several solid performances in three Dutch one-day races that included a visit to the podium. The U.S. team gained valuable international racing experience at the Drentse 8 van Dwingeloo on April 12, the Ronde van Drenthe World Cup on April 14 and the Novilion Internationale Damesronde van Drenthe on April 15.

Devine Top Finisher in Stage One, Second Overall in Best Young Rider Classification

Macon, Ga. - The USA Cycling National Development Team opened the seven-day Tour de Georgia on Monday with a 153-kilometer stage from Peachtree City to Macon in which John Devine (Dixon, Ill./VMG Racing) was the top finisher for the squad in 23rd place.
