Americans Finish World Cup Opener With One Medal
SYDNEY - Jennie Reed (Kirkland, Wash./Momentum) collected the first and only medal of the weekend for the United States on Sunday with a silver-medal performance in the women's keirin at the opening round of the UCI Track World Cup series.
Reed won both her first- and second-round heats before lining up in the six-woman final against eventual winner Victoria Pendleton (GBR), bronze medalist Natalia Tsylinskaya (BEL), Clara Sanchez (FRA), Elisa Frisoni (ITA) and Simona Krupeckaite (LTU).

Americans Finish Off the Podium For Second Consecutive Day
SYDNEY - Becky Quinn's fourth-place finish in the women's 20-kilometer points race led all Americans on day two of the UCI Track World Cup in Sydney on Saturday. Quinn (Quakertown, Pa./South Bay Wheelmen) tallied seven points in the final to finish just off the podium behind winner Giorgia Bronzini (ITA), runner-up Li Yan (CHN) and bronze medalist Jarmilla Machacova (CZE).

Two-Time Defending World Champion Finishes Fifth in Pursuit, Phinney Lowers Personal Best to Place Ninth
SYDNEY - The opening round of the 2007-08 UCI Track World Cup Classics kicked off Down Under on Friday as 12 Americans were in action on the first day of the three-day competition.
Two-time defending world champion Sarah Hammer (Temecula, Calif./Ouch Pro Cycling) posted the best result for the U.S. contingent on Friday with a fifth-place effort in the women’s 3-kilometer individual pursuit. Hammer recorded a time of 3 minutes, 38.680 seconds and failed to advance to the evening session’s medal round.

U.S. National Team, Seven American Pro Teams set for First Major International Event of 2007-08 Season
Colorado Springs, Colo. - Twenty Americans are set to compete in the opening round of the 2007-08 UCI Track Cycling World Cup Classics in Sydney this weekend, Nov. 30 – Dec. 2.
The U.S. National Team and seven American UCI-sanctioned professional track teams are among the 48 nations and 23 trade teams set to compete in the season’s first major international event that factors into Olympic qualification.

Kansas City, Kan. – The USA Cycling Cyclocross National Championships are coming to Kansas City Dec. 13-16 and organizers are giving Kansans and Missourians the Cliffs Notes version of what the sport of cyclocross is all about.
In two words: “Fan Friendly.”
What other national championship event offers free admission, free parking and the opportunity to get up-close-and-personal with the athletes before, during and after their competition?
