Adam Mills (HRRC) and Bill Stolte (HRRC) cross the finishline, with Adam taking the win. Bill had won the day before. Photo John Peterson Lincoln, NE - All that changed for Bill Stolte and Adam Mills (HRRC/Midwest TREK) at the top of the Men's 1/2/3 results Sunday afternoon was the place next to their name. The Kansas duo dominated the final day of the Nebraska SOBE No Fear CX Weekend from the opening lap in the 60-minute race.
With the 1.5 course run in the reverse direction of Saturday's course for the state championship event, lap times appeared to be faster for all of the 16 riders that lined up. None of the times were as fast Stolte and Mills however, who broke away after 4 laps from a solid group that included Mark Studnicki (Localcycling.com), Darin Schlake (MonkeyWrench Cycles), Adam Lang (KCCX/Verge) and Tony Wilhelm (HRRC/Midwest TREK). While the HRRC tandem moved up the road and clear of the chase, Studnicki and Schlake were the only riders able to stay clear with any chance of seeing the front of the race. With the Men's 1/2 points competition on the line, Studnicki held on to outsprint Schlake at the line finishing third overall on the day.
In the Women's race, Sydney Brown (Badger Cycles) managed a wheel change with no issue on her way to a relatively easy victory. Her second state championship in as many years. Other top finishers included: Matt Farnham (Nebraska Medical Center/Team Kaos) in Men's 4, Kelly Irwin (Northern Rockies Orthopaedic) in Men's 3, Tom Price (TREK of KC) in the Masters race, Jenny Hruska in Women's Cat. 4 and Noah Burke in the Junior Men.

Bill Stolte with a great performance in the Men's 1/2/3 race. Photo John Peterson Lincoln, NE - Bill Stolte (HRRC/TREK Stores) capitalized on a solid start and never looked back on his way to victory in the Men's 1/2/3 race at the Nebraska SOBE No Fear CX Weekend opener in Pioneers Park saturday afternoon. Stolte and teammate Adam Mills pulled away from a chase group of six that included local standout and HRRC rider, Tony Wilhelm at the midway point of the 60-minute contest. The 1.5 half course got progressively faster as the day wore on with the dry conditions giving way to almost slick conditions in some of the turns.
Other top finishers included: Stacey Hallman (Team Kenda) in the Women's Open, Tony Wilhelm (HRRC/TREK) in Men's 3, Matt Farnham (Nebraska Medical Center/Team Kaos) in Men's 4, Tom Price (TREK of KC) in Men Masters and Noah Burke (Midwest Cycling) in Junior Men. Nancy Brown finished as the top rider in Women's 4.
Chip timing from AMB was provided as a demo today for the Nebraska Cycling Association. Results can be found online at www.mylaps.com The results include a breakdown of lap times including the fastest rider for each lap in every race.
