Photo John Peterson Bellevue, NE -The 2007 Nebraska Lottery Psycowpath Series came to a fantastic close on Saturday Aug 25 at Swanson Park in Bellevue. After a week full of rains, dry weather on Fri and Saturday morning, the course dryed up for fantastic conditions. Extended lap counts pushed riders to their limit and amazing competition ensued. The hard work of many throughout the season paid off as many folks set personal record times and accomplishments in capping off yet another Nebraska mountain bike season.
Kent McNeill took off hard off the start line with Cam Kirkpatrick and others in tow. Eventually Kirkpatrick surged to take over the lead and carry it through the final laps to win the event. Kent McNeill finished second, and was awarded state Champion as the top Nebraska rider.
Hold this NEW, CONFIRMED date for our end of year Nebraska Lottery Psycowpath party: Friday, Oct 19, 2007-- featuring series awards and free food & drink at Platte River State Park.

HASTINGS, NE -- For the past seven years, cyclists from all over Nebraska and surrounding states have been coming to the Kool-Aid Classic Bicycle Tour. This year's event, held on Saturday, August 11, was organized by Hastings Unique Bicyclists (HUB) in conjunction with Kool-Aid Days in Hastings. Over 111 cyclists from six different states rode their bicycles either 30 or 60-miles, drank Kool-Aid and helped raise money for the Pioneer Spirit Trail (PST), a hike and bike trail being built in and around Hastings. With generous help from the cyclists and local area sponsors, over $1200 was raised for the trail.

On Saturday, junior & beginner categories start at 10am with sport, singlespeed and expert categories starting at noon. The state championship presents an extra challenge for racers: Beginners will complete 2 laps, Sport/Singlespeed will complete 4, while Expert racers will complete 6 full laps. For this special event, the course will be run backwards from the typical direction. Please use caution and care in pre-riding the course this week.
