Fort Lewis College Goes Three-For-Three, University of Arizona, Colorado College Rule Day Two
Angel Fire, N.M. (October 21, 2006)--Fort Lewis College won its third consecutive event at the 2006 USA Cycling Collegiate Mountain Bike National Championships Saturday as Friday's short track winner, Alex Hagman, won the 18-mile Division I men's cross country race. Other key performances were turned in by the University of Arizona who placed first and second in the Division I women's cross country event and Colorado College who claimed the top-two spots in the Division II men's cross country contest.

This Saturday is the start of the cross season in Nebraska. The Omaha Velo Club along with River City Hockey and Cycling, the TREK Store of Omaha, Highgear Bicycle Store of Omaha, The Bike Way and California Taco will bring cyclo-cross racing back to Omaha for the second year in a row. Here is the schedule of races for the October 21-22 Omaha CX Weekend.
SATURDAY RACE SCHEDULE:
12:00p.m. Men 4 Beginner, Junior Men 30 min.
12:45p.m. Women (Open), Junior Women 30 min
1:45p.m. Men 3 & 4 45 min.
2:45p.m. Men Masters 35+/45+ 45 min.
3:45p.m. Men 1/2/3 60 min.
SUNDAY RACE SCHEDULE:
10:00a.m. Men Masters 35+/45+ 45 min
11:00a.m. Junior Women, Women (Open) 30 min.
11:45a.m. Men 3 & 4 45 min.

Trek/VW-Midwest's Shadd Smith was in fine form as he took round # 1 of the Cow Town Cyclocross Series over a hard charging Mark Studnicki (Cow Town) and Adam Mills. Columbia Bike Club’s Pamela Hinton scored the women’s title over Free State Racing’s Michelle Jensen and University of Florida’s Elisabeth Heal. The Chris Cross event was held at Clinton Lake State Park and featured a very technical course with 2 natural dismounts, one set of boards, several gravel road sections, and "Tige’s Tantrums".

The Cow Town Cyclocross Series kicks off this weekend with the Chris Cross on October 14th. Throughout the series look for some great cyclo-cross courses, fun atmosphere, great post race food/drink, custom awards and plenty of prizes/swag including race primes for each class. One lucky winner will even come home with a Badger Custom Bicycle which will be custom made for him by Rob Pennell.
