$200,000 in Prize Money, Eight UCI Events Featured on Inaugural Season-Long Calendar
Colorado Springs, Colo. (January 11, 2007)—After unveiling plans for a
new season-long mountain bike initiative last October, USA Cycling
announced today the 53 races that comprise the inaugural USA Cycling
Mountain Bike National Calendars.
With over $200,000 in prize money on the line, the calendars encompass
all disciplines of competitive off-road cycling and are divided into
three primary categories – cross country, gravity and ultra endurance.
The new USA Cycling Mountain Bike National Calendars were specifically
designed to provide a more accessible opportunity for top-level events
in the United States that have not traditionally been part of the
national series model. The new concept is compatible with a variety of
event models and provides professional and elite-level athletes with
consistent, top-quality racing opportunities across all disciplines of
mountain biking.

Eight Groups Recipients of Annual USA Cycling/International Mountain Bicycling Association Grants including Elkhorn Valley Cycling Club and Andrew Bicycle adn Fitness in Norfolk.
Colorado Springs, Colo. (December 8, 2006)—USA Cycling announced today the recipients of the 2006 USA Cycling/International Mountain Bicycling Association (IMBA) Trail Tune-Up Grants.
Funded by USA Cycling, two $1,000 grants and six $500 grants were awarded to several groups seeking to jump-start trail improvement projects with an emphasis placed on trails used for competitive racing.
With applications from all corners of the United States, USA Cycling and IMBA have selected recipients from Virginia, Colorado, Wisconsin, California, Ohio, Alabama, and New York.
In order to be eligible for the funding, clubs had to be members of both USA Cycling and IMBA

Winners, spectators, riders Gather to Celebrate the 2006 Nebraska Lottery Psycowpath Season |

 Riders, families, and friends descended on Platte River State Park Saturday afternoon and into the evening to draw a close to a year of championship mountain bike racing in Nebraska.
Nearly 40 riders participated in a group ride on the Parks popular trail system, and was enjoyed by juniors and experts alike. While some rode, families enjoyed a guided hike lead by sport racer and general outdoorswoman Donna Holmes. Others enjoyed movies in the Mallet Lodge. As the sun began to set, riders gathered back at Mallet Lodge and listened to the end of the Cornhusker game, while the Martin & Christine Bixby prepared food for the masses. Over 80 people enjoyed salad, spaghetti, garlic bread, beer, and chased it down with apple crisp handmade by Roxzanne's mother Karen.

Nebraska Lottery Psycowpath 2006 Series Winners to be Recognized Nov 11 |

The 2006 Nebraska Lottery Psycowpath Series will recognize the top mountain bikers in the state next Saturday, November 11. Platte River State Park will host the first annual Psycowpath Series Banquet next Saturday, at the Mallet Lodge. Activities for the whole family are featured, including a group ride, a hike, movies for the kids, and dinner followed by an awards ceremony. Details can be found here . All riders, spectators, racers, host clubs, sponsors, and families are invited.
