Jurekovic, Cares Post Promising Results in Second Stop of USA Cycling Mountain Bike National Cross Country Calendar

Colorado Springs, Colo. -The second event on the USA Cycling Mountain Bike National Cross Country Calendar took place March 30-April 1 at the NOVA National presented by Bear Naked-Cannondale in Fountain Hills, Ariz. where two members of the USA Cycling National Development Team - Sam Jurekovic (Colorado Springs, Colo.) and Colin Cares (Boulder, Colo.) - had strong rides.

The 2007 Nebraska Lottery Psycowpath Series kicks off April 7 at the Tranquility Tire Tantrum XC in Omaha, NE.  12 Days, 288 hours, 17,000 minutes-- however you want to count it, its for real, people.  The posters are up, and the postman is bringing the info to a mailbox near you.  Air up those mountain bike tires and prepare to recover from a wet and cold winter.  In addition to the great riding and competition you've come to expect, 2007 brings some new changes to the series.  Don't worry, entry fees and all that stays the same... but we're puttin more free stuff in your hands-- how about a shirt and a hotdog?

U.S. Number One in the World in Cross Country Mountain Bike Rankings Print E-mail

Women’s Team, Georgia Gould Lead the Rankings; Men’s Team Third, Todd Wells Fourth

Colorado Springs, Colo.The United States and Georgia Gould (Ketchum, Idaho/Luna) are ranked number one in the world in the Olympic-style cross country discipline according to the latest edition of the international mountain bike rankings released Monday by the UCI.

Four Nebraska MTB riders take four first places in KS. Print E-mail

Independence, MO - The eight-mile course at William Landahl Park Reserve was the perfect match for four Nebraska riders during the Spoke Pony Showdown on March 6.

Kent McNeill (Highgear/Trek Omaha) of Omaha won the Men’s 3-Hour Solo race after taking the lead from Tige Lamb after the first of five laps. McNeill’s winning time was 3:31:27, nearly two minutes better than Mark Studnicki (3:33:18).

Roxzanne Abbott (Bike Masters) of Omaha ran away with the Women's 3-Hour Solo event, lapping the field and completing four laps in 3:37:02.

In the Men's 6-Hour Solo race, Matt Gersib (Monkey Wrench/Salsa Cycles) of Lincoln took top honors. He led from the start and completed eight laps (64 miles) in 6:38:45. Josh Patterson was second, 4:15 behind Gersib.

Sydney Brown (Lincoln Plating) of Lincoln won the Women’s 6-Hour Solor race, lapping all but one rider (Danielle Musto) in the process. Brown’s time for seven laps was 6:19:05, 8:05 minutes faster than Musto.
