The 2008 cycling season is upon us and the Nebraska Cycling Association is working with area clubs to host a series of criterium training races to kick off the year March 22, March 29 and April 6. With races near Lincoln, Norfolk and Omaha, the NCA Criterium Training Series is designed as a way for new riders to try racing in a less formal atmosphere and gives veteran racers those much needed "race pace" miles in preparation for the eatrly season competitions.

Lincoln - It is not the position a race director wants to be in when you promote one of the biggest weekends of road racing in the state, but as John Lefler is finding out, a good title sponsor is hard to find.
The Spring Cycling Classic has served as the season opener for the Nebraska road racing season since 2001. The two-day, three stage event has grown from a series of weekend training races into one of the most popular early season stage races, attracting riders from across the Midwest.

Sixteen Pro Men’s Races Featured on the Second-Annual, Season-Long Calendar
Colorado Springs, Colo. - After Levi Leipheimer (Santa Rosa, Calif.) and his Discovery Channel Pro Cycling Team claimed overall titles in the inaugural USA Cycling Professional Tour, the national governing body announced today its second-annual, season-long professional road cycling calendar.

35 Races Featured on Season-Long Pro-Am Calendar
Colorado Springs, CO - More than $1.2 million is again up for grabs to elite-level cyclists as USA Cycling announced its 2008 National Racing Calendar (NRC) on Wednesday. Entering its 12th season, next year’s NRC features 35 events across 23 states and will again crown the nation’s top domestic individuals and teams. Of those 35 races, 31 of them will feature women’s events while 28 will include men’s racing.
