With three scheduled installments of the 2006 Norfolk Time Trial Series left to go, some additions are being planned!!
On September 6, 2006 there will be an optional Team Time Trial. Single riders will be welcomed as well but teams of 4 riders will be allowed. There are no limitations on what category riders are on the team but teams will be generally split up as Pro/1/2/3 riders, 4/5 riders and women riders. Teams will be classified as to the category of the majority of riders on the team.
The TTT will be scored on the cumulative time of the first three riders to finish (the last rider's time does not count.) Drafting and working together are allowed among team members so team selection should be based on like abilities. Teams will start lined up side by side and there will be no holding at the line. Teams may want to consider a name suitable for the members and clothing or other markings to indicate team members in case of separation at the finish. Other details, such as how this race will be incorporated into the season standings, are to be determined and will be announced at race time. USCF TTT rules will be in effect.
The TTT will be a jackpot competition, with a $10.00 contribution per team divided into a purse for 1st 2nd and 3rd place for combined categories Pro/1/2/3 and 4/5 and women's open. 80% payback with remainder to go to EVCC.
On September 20, 2006 the season will close with a jackpot race. A $5.00 contribution by each rider will be divided 100% into a jackpot for 1st 2nd and 3rd place for combined categories Pro/1/2/3 and 4/5 and women's open. ($2.00 entry fee for non-members still applies.) This race will count toward the season standings and the year end banquet awards.
As always, we start at 7:00 pm at the Norfolk Beverage parking lot, 25th and Omaha. Come out and join in the fun!
