  • Entry fee includes USA Cycling $2.00 surcharge.
  • Riders must have USA Cycling annual license OR purchase 1-day license.
  • Riders may enter a second race on Sunday, April 13 for $10. 
  • Annual ($60) & 1-day ($10) licenses will be available for purchase at race site.
  • No “day-of” registration will be allowed and/or offered either day. 
  • NO REFUNDS OR TRANFERS WILL BE GIVEN.

GENERAL RACE RULES & INFORMATION

• All 2008 USA Cycling road racing rules apply.
• Events will be held rain or shine.
• Race numbers: Saturday – right side. Sunday – left side. Race numbers assigned for Saturday’s race will be used again on Sunday.  Riders only racing on Sunday may pick their race bib numbers up at rider check-in on Sunday.
• “Yellow line” rule will be strictly enforced in the road race.
• Helmets must be worn at all times while on the bike.
• Valid and current USA Cycling license must be presented at registration.
• Promoter reserves the right to adjust start times and mileage.
• Promoter reserves the right to cancel/combine events and prize lists as necessary.
• PLEASE NOTE: No more than 50% of the field will be awarded prizes.
• Nebraska State Park permit required for Saturday road race. Day passes available on-site for $3.00.
• Feed zone for Saturday’s Road Race is located in Area 3 on NW 98th Road, south of the Branched
• Oak Lake dam. There will be LIMITED neutral feed support. OUT-OF-TOWN RIDERS: please contact Race Director prior to race day to make arrangements for feed zone support.
• All events will be “wheels in/wheels out.” There will be NO neutral wheel support either day. Please make sure to properly identify your wheels. We will not be responsible for lost or stolen wheels.

DIRECTIONS

Road Race – Saturday, April 12, 2008
Branched Oak Lake, Lieber’s Point near Raymond, NE
From I-80, take Exit 401B to Hwy 34. Head west on Hwy 34 to NW 112th to Raymond Road. Turn left on Raymond Road and proceed west to NW 140th Street. Turn right on NW 140th Street and head north to Branched Oak Road. Turn right and proceed to the park gate. Continue east past the park gate to Lieber’s Point. Watch for direction signs. Approximately 20-25 minutes by vehicle from Downtown Lincoln.

Circuit Race – Sunday, April 13, 2008
Pioneers Park – Lincoln, NE
From Downtown Lincoln, take 9th Street south to West Van Dorn. Turn right on West Van Dorn and proceed to Pioneers Park. Watch for signs. Approximately 10-15 minutes by vehicle from Downtown Lincoln..

ROAD CLOSURES:

Road Race: No roads will be closed to traffic for the road race. There will be Lancaster County Deputies on site to provide traffic control as well as volunteer course marshals.  

Circuit Race: The course for the circuit race will be closed to all non-bicycle traffic. Communication on the race course will be provided by the Lancaster HAM Radio Club both days.

Road Race -- 9:00am to 1:00pm
Branched Oak Lake: Located 20-25 minutes northwest of Downtown Lincoln
Branched Oak Lake is the venue for Saturday’s road race. The 11.2-mile loop starts at Lieber’s Point and circles Branched Oak Lake, which is the largest flood control reservoir in the Salt Creek basin. The rolling circuit features two sustained hills on the western half and a challenging eastern stretch, which crosses the Branched Oak Lake dam. The finish stretch is a complete road enclosure and slightly downhill.

Circuit Race – 8:00am – 2:00pm
Pioneers Park: 10-15 minutes from Downtown Lincoln

The 2-mile loop at Pioneers Park has two power climbs that are sure to get your legs firing. Beginning at the top of the park near the entrance to the Pinewood Bowl, the circuit heads east towards the ‘Buffalo Statue’ roundabout and then proceeds west back to the top of the park before heading south down a fast descent, circling the Pinewood Bowl and then back up a longer climb to the finish. The course will be closed to all traffic throughout the events.
